Signs of Awakening Mediumship

First of all, I would like to congratulate you for being here and studying this topic!

The fear of the unknown is extremely common when we begin to notice the first symptoms of mediumship. And fear is a low vibration…

Therefore, I believe that knowledge is the best antidote at this moment! After all, this way you will know that you are not alone, you will understand what is happening, how to deal with it, and you will finally be able to feel at Peace (a high vibration)!

Note: If you don’t understand when I talk about vibration, as soon as possible read this other article of mine: “Hawkins Scale and Vibrational Frequency”. 💟

Now, let’s go step by step to understand the context and the Signs of Awakening Mediumship…

What is Mediumship?

According to the Priberam Dictionary of the Portuguese Language, mediumship is “the ability to be a medium.”

According to the founder of Spiritism and one of the greatest scholars of mediumship, Allan Kardec (1804 — 1869), “anyone who feels, to any degree, the influence of spirits is, by that fact, a medium.” At the same time, he states:

“To penetrate the invisible world, God gave you mediumship.” (KARDEC, Allan. The Gospel According to Spiritism, chap. XXVIII, item 9).

According to the spiritualist Luiza Tomasuolo, mediumship allows us to communicate with or channel astral energies that wish to deliver messages to family members, or that seek help to transform and transition between dimensions, aiding their growth.

From a more universalist perspective, Bruno J. Gimenes and Patrícia Cândido from Luz da Serra believe that mediumship is natural to all of us and can bring various inspirations.

Thus, what differs is that Luiza Tomasuolo separates channeling from mediumship, while Bruno and Patrícia include both under mediumship.

It is important to note that even within Spiritism there is no full consensus on classifications.

Also, it is not necessary to see spirits to be a medium—this specific ability is called “clairvoyance.”

What is Spiritual Channeling?

In short, we all have an intuitive channel, also known as the sixth sense.

Spiritual channeling is the act of using this channel to connect with our Higher Self (click here to learn more) and with beings from different dimensions through telepathic communication.

Thus, mediumship is a form of channeling.

How to Know if You Are a Medium

First, it’s important to understand that mediumship is part of being human.

Bruno J. Gimenes explains that every human being has a soul, and “the soul’s property is to create an exchange between the physical and the non-physical.”

Therefore, we all have mediumship. So yes—you are a medium!

What differs is how developed it is: in some people it is awakened, in others repressed or balanced.

What is Awakening Mediumship?

“Awakening” here means emerging.

So, awakening mediumship refers to something that has come to the surface.

This makes sense, since it has always been present, even if dormant before.

The signs of awakening mediumship can be physical or subtle, depending on your sensitivity.
